Katharina Ernst left the Institut für Informationsverabeitung. Publications and research activities from the time after the departure are not listed here.
Katharina Ernst studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Westfälische Wilhems-University of Münster. She received her Dipl.-Math. degree from the WWU of Münster in May of 2006. Her diploma thesis "Klassifikation von Lichtquellen im Straßenverkehr" was developed in combination with the concern Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. It dealt with the construction of an image processing system for classification of sources of light in road traffic.
Since then she has been working as a developer of computer vision algorithms in the field of industrial image processing at the Viscom AG in Hannover, one
of the world's leading suppliers of high-quality inspection systems for the electronics industry.
Since 2009, she is working towards her PhD degree at the 'Institut für Informationverarbeitung' of the Leibniz University of Hannover in cooperation with the Viscom AG. She is currently working on a parameter optimization project.
