Tzvetomir Tzvetanov left the Institut für Informationsverabeitung.
Publications and research activities from the time after the departure are not listed here.
T. Tzvetanov studied Physics in Strasbourg and obtained his PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience / Psychology at the University Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg, France, 11/2003). He pursued his career as a post-doctorate scientist at the German Primate Center and later the Max-Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization and Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (Goettingen). He joined the Institute for Information Processing at the Leibniz University of Hannover since Nov.2008 as an independent research scientist.
The main research interest is visual perception by humans and its understanding through computational models of the brain visual areas involved in the final perceptual outcome. The modeling is based on detailed knowledge from neuroscience/neurophysiology of the neuronal properties and connectivities.
Experiments:
Experiments are carried for characterizing a given property (e.g. orientation, position, motion direction sensitivity etc.) of our visual system. The psychophysical experiments are done with persons that volunteered to participate for helping our research. Subjects are paid volunteers (for persons interested in participating and further information, please contact T.Tzvetanov).
